Advancing environmental literacy, stewardship, and career pathways using trees and forests as windows on the world.
EDUCATION
Building a next generation of leadership that will take responsibility for solving environmental challenges and market needs is one of the best investments a society can make.
Project Learning Tree (PLT), SFI’s education program advances environmental education, forest literacy and career pathways using trees and forests as windows on to the world.
ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES
Experiencing the outdoors through trees and forests at an early age helps build a solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Teaching children to understand and value nature is vital to raising the next generation of environmental stewards.
SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION
We are working to leverage the connections to green careers across our environmental education curriculum and developing pathways to green careers by exposing young people to nature and the array of green jobs opportunities.
PROJECT LEARNING TREE
Trees and forests serve as windows onto the world for learning about the environment, sustainable communities, responsible purchasing of forest products, water quality, economic health and well-being, and so much more.
PROJECT LEARNING TREE CANADA
PLT Canada is committed to using the outdoors to engage youth in learning about the world around them—in rural, Indigenous, and urban communities—and advancing environmental literacy, stewardship, and career pathways using trees and forests as windows on the world.
